TRICK OR TREAT

Here are a few photos from our Halloween. We got Makenna into her costume around 5pm and headed out the door by 5.30pm.

We dropped into Ray & Deannas, the haunted house on 19th street, Vanessa's, and some more folks.

We met up with Carolyn and Sydney and strolled 43rd St in the little red wagon... Teresa & Logan came by but he was way to tired to trick or treat. We went back to Carolyn's. The kids played. Sasha came over with Natalie & Matthew.

Then we were off to visit Daryll & Candace. Stephanie and Candace's parents were there too. We had a good visit.

Lastly we arrived at Uncle Scott & Aunt Tracy's around 8pm.....EEEKKKK !!! Makenna loaded up her goodie bag and then we were done for the night.

We came home and Daddy got Makennaready for bed and off they went...

I have so already been into her candy....BAD MOMMY !!!

P.S. It was -15 here tonight !!! CHILLY !!!

Okay, so i am getting a little behind...

What a friggin busy week and we never really did anything !!! Crazyniess !!!

I had a great 26th Birthday !!! Yeah for me, I had a pretty usual day. We went to Bonnyville to get some groceries (LOL), i know on my birthday. Remember i am a SAHM, gotta "get er done"... LOL. We went out for lunch at this awsome little spot called Moms Place, everything is homemade. They have the best grilled cheese ever !

Mom, Kenny, Jordan, Makenna and I all went to Boston Pizza for supper, It was delicous as well !!! I had the most amazing Brownie desert...YUMMY !!! Then we came home and they had a little surprise soiree for me here complete with friends and cake. Seeing how as i am the picture taker numero uno, we forgot ot take pictures. I was in the moment.

Kenny got me a wicked new mocha colored vest with a fur hood, some shirts from Reitmans, I ordered a new Digital camera and another white down filled vest too. I got some other great gifts too... Thanks guys !!!

Took Makenna to Vanessas on Wed & Thur Afternoons, I did a lot of running errands and stuff like that. Today I took Makenna to get her first real haircut, well just her bangs. I cut them once before but they never turned out as straight as i had planned. So i promised her mommy would never cut her hair again... she was really good and especially enjoyed the lollipop at the end of it all.

Went over to Scott & Tracys for a visit tonight, then stopped into Canadian Tire on my way home, sans Kenny. This way i didn't have to look at tools. I wandered around the christmas section and couldn't help my self to the purchaes of some new christmas decorations... BAD GIRL !!!

For the record ... I AM CHRISTMAS RETARTED THIS YEAR ... I am worse than a 6 year old.... I guess christmas changes once you have kids, you become one again...LOL

I have already purchased 3 of those 6FT inflatables for the yard, a snowman, a polar bear and a gingerbread man...

P.S. We are putting our christmas lights up on Sunday, before it gets too cold....I will use all the power within me to resist plugging them in till at least the 2nd last week in November.

Off to LLOYDMINISTER tomorrow for some more retail therapy, but Kennys coming too. I will restain myself...LOL

Fall Bull-A-Rama

Well tonight we went to the Rodeo... well the bull riding part of it. It was so good, we had a bawl. Makenna loved it she kept saying Horsey and Bull. It was part of the CPCA Finals. My mom loved it ans the arena was packed.

I was out doing some more christmas shopping this afternoon !!! FUN FUN FUN !!! I love christmas, I am so super excited to see Makenna this year.

Too Much TV or Not !!!

Okay so it's almost winter... which means we are definatly in must see TV mode. I was talking to a friend today and we got on to the subject of TV. I was talking about all the shows i watch and she was like oh my heavens how do you get anything else done... I was a little bit shell shocked...I was like haven't you heard of time shifting from Star choice... She didn't get it... so here is my list of all the shows i watch... Do i watch a lot of TV ???

Today Rosie turned the tables on Martha Stewart and showed her how she carves a Jack-o-Lantern! I friggin loved it so much i made 5 of them this afternoon, it isn't quite dark enough yet to get good pictures. I will post the results later.


ROSIE'S BROADWAY PUMPKIN

Supplies:

Wooden cutting board
Regular pumpkinKnife long enough to cut into the pumpkin
Pencil
One package of 50 Christmas Twinkle Lights
Large screwdriver or another tool to punch a hole the same diameter of the base and bulb of a Christmas Twinkle Light
Large kitchen serving spoon for cleaning pumpkins

NOTE: All tools should be easily accessible.

1. Cut around the stem of the pumpkin to make a lid. Cuts should be made at an angle away from the stem; this will help the lid from slipping back into the pumpkin. HINT: If you cut it the wrong way, and your lid wants to slip back into the pumpkin, stick toothpicks into the sides of the lid to keep it from slipping back through.

I just cut a hole in the bottom of the pumkin, it is easier.

2. Clean out the inside goop of the pumpkin.

3. Using a pencil or marker, draw a design on the outside of the pumpkin. Be creative you can use a name, shape, whatever you like.

4. Using a large screwdriver with the same diameter of the base and Christmas Twinkle Light, poke holes through the pumpkin along the lines of your design. NOTE: punch enough holes for the amount of lights you have. For example if you have a package of 50 lights, punch 50 holes.

I used a cordless drill !!!! MORE POWER !!!

5. Push one light in each hole from the inside of the pumpkin so that the bulb peeks through on the outside.

6. Cut a hole in the back of pumpkin big enough to feed the plug through.

7. Plug it in and enjoy!

PLEASE NOTE: Be sure to follow the manufacturers' safety instructions for each tool/supply you choose to use for this project.

CONGRATULATIONS MAKENNA !!!

Well today was Makennas first day at Daycare, well actually a dayhome. She went to Nessas for an hour this afternoon and I was fretting getting that awful call to have to come pick her up but she was as good as gold. When i went back to get her she did'nt want to go. I actually had to chase her around the house to get her to go. It was awsome !!!

I am so proud of her, our goal is to get her to be able to go to Nessa's 2 days a week for 3 hours each day in the afternoons. That will give me a little time to do whatever i want to. YEAH !!!

I am getting so excited... 10 more days till Flicka opens in theatres everywhere!!! I cant stop watching Tim McGraw's new video for "My Little girl". I love that song and it only makes me want ot see the movie even more. I remember when i was like 12, i read the book for school and did an essay on it. I've loved it ever since.

It's like -6 here in Cold Lake today and there are flurries !!! YIKES !!! I actually started my christmas shopping this past weekend picked up some Dora stuff for my monkey. Other than that not too much new around here, Makenna is offot try a dayhome for an hour this afternoon, the ladys name is Vanessa and she is from Newfoundland. She is so nice, i hope Makenna does'nt give her too hard of a time...LOL... I am not expecting much....Wish us luck !

Another Holiday Bites The Dust...

Well Thanksgiving's out of the way and boy am i stuffed... now all the ways to take care of those turkey leftovers...

We had a pretty quiet weekend, Friday night Mom & I went out shopping then we went to see Employee of the Month, it was'nt very funny at all ... That was a bit of a bust, we came out of the theater from the late show and gosh it was cold...I had to crank the heat in the car. That is a sure sign that winter is on its way.

Went out and got some last minute groceries on Saturday and hit Walmart for a while, we went to Boston Pizza for lunch too.

Spent a quiet Sunday and all day today I cooked... dinner was wonderful !!!

Getting ready to watch The Bachelor and the season premier of What About Brian tonight....can't wait.

I love pumkins... Can hardly wait for this weekend to head off to Smokey Lake, Alberta, about an hour and half south west from here to go to the annual PUMKIN DAYS !!!

#1.. I love driving in the city in traffic, it's like a high for me...I love all the lane changing and constant testing of your driving skills...LOL

Awsome weekend in Edmonton !!!

Well, what can i say... We had a wonderful weekedn in the city, we shopped on friday and went out to Swiss Chalet for supper, it is my mommas favourite....

We moved Tracey & John on saturday, then saturday night we went out for supper for Makennas birthday at East Side Marios....

Sunday was spent shopping, then we came home sunday evening...
