GRANDMAS ALMOST HERE !!!

So its been a pretty busy week around here....Vince & Jessica left on wednesday for Halifax to return to school at St. Marys University...

I cleaned out there room and got my moms room ready...Yes folks tomorrow is the day........MY MOMMY COMES !!!

Makenna and i are off to the city this weekend to pick her up and get in a little visiting....

OLD HOME WEEK !!!

Well, tonight is the 47th running of the prestigous Gold Cup & Saucer Race ....that really makes me miss home....I am sure they are gonna break track records....

Each August the Charlottetown Driving Park Entertainment Centre is the home of one of the major entertainment attractions in Canada - Old Home Week and the Gold Cup & Saucer. The fastest horses and the best drivers in all of Eastern Canada converge at the CDPEC for 15 racing programs in 9 days. The Gold Cup & Saucer dates back to the early 1960’s. It has become known as one of the most prestigious races in horse racing.

The horses and their drivers walk past the spectators as the island hymn is played to a packed house. The lights go out and the horses and their drivers are introduced to the thousands of fans one by one under the spotlight as they make their way in front of the grandstand. At two minutes to midnight, the famous call to the post is heard and the horses and drivers get ready to compete in one of the best shows in racing….the $60,000 Gold Cup & Saucer!

Rainy Sunday............

I really thought the rain was gonna come through the roof last night......it was brutal.....Once it woke me it was almost impossible to get back to sleep......

So my DH goes away for his BOP course today, off to Nisku for a week.........just me and the toddler all by our selves........no wait we still have Jordan, Vince, Jessica, The dogs (Charly & Oreo) & The cat (Smokey).......we will never be alone..........lol

Just relaxing and maxing today at home....no plans at all.....

Being able to stay at home with my daughter....and still have a comfortable life...$$$ 4.... All the great shopping in Edmonton & Calgary !!! 5.... why is gas not a little bit cheaper here ??? It should be.... 6.... All the people from the maritimes that are here too, makes you miss home less.... 7.... BANFF & JASPER !!!! I Love the mountains........ 8.... Only having to register your car once.........not every year...........AWSOME !!!! 9.... Very seasonal weather....Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter............. 10.... God Bless the OIL RIGS.........they keep my DH very busy...... 11.... I love Cowboys !!!!!!!!!!!!! 12....The fact that going quading or on the Rhino is considered sport not hobby.......LOL 13.... The fact that Min Wage is like $10 per hour...........

A DAY AT THE PARK...

Well we had a wonderful long weekend around here, my DH was off Friday, Saturday, Sunday & monday....pretty much sick of him by now...lol...

We got a lot of yard work done and managed to clean out our garage too...as always acres of grass to cut...

I went out with the girls on saturday night, had a good time but i was so tired...could not wait to hit the bed...the bars we pretty busy too...

We had an awsome fire in our back yard last night, it was toasty and warm. We roasted marshamellows and made spider dogs too...

Today was filled wit the yard work...we saved that till the last...we went ot Dairy Queen for supper then off to the park for some playtime...

Awsome weekend here in Cold Lake...

 

BLAH, BLAH, BLAH ...

What is up with this weather...It honestly feels like fall...I had to double check my calendar to see that is was only August 4th and not October.....pooh...

So a pretty uneventful weekend planned for us my DH is working today might be off for the weekend but who knows...we do live in OIL RIG country... I am not planning for him to be off so if he is it will be a big surprise...

I would really like to be able to spend some time outdoors this wekend, like maybe on my deck or in the backyard...This weekend is a holiday one here in Alberta, and in Cold Lake, it is Aqua Days, basically a lot of community events planned at the beach... We will attend the fire works for sure on Saturday night...if it is not raining...

The girls all want ot go out this saturday night too...Camels Toe here we come......I am tired today and yes Deanna, i have my heat on....I hate that dampness that the weather is bringing up here....I am going for a drive this afternoon to see if the leaves are turning yet....LOL

I kid you not she barely takes them off her feet, she could run around all day wearing them....What a girl !

13 Things that I have done this week.....1…. Went to Edmonton to the Capital E, It was OKAY !!! 2.... Visited West Ed and did some shopping, I never shop there...I felt like a tourist all over again....LOL 3.... Ate at 2 of my favourite restaurants......East Side Marios & Chilis......Yummy!!!!! 4.... Bought Makenna the cutest bubble gum pink cowboy boots at Lammels.... for her cowgirl photo shoot....YEAH !!! 5.... Went ot the airport and picked up Jordan my DH's friend.........I was late, actually his flight was early..... 6..... Actually went grocery shopping on 10 % Tuesday, I never do..... for those of you not in Alberta, the first tuesday of every month you get 10 % off....Good deal especailly when you buy hundreds of dollars worth of groceries.....$$$$$ 7.... Took Jordan to my husbands company to get a job.... he is soon to be a roughneck in training....LOL 8.... Went out for lunch with my girlfriend and her little guy, we seem to not have been able to connect all summer.... we are always running on different schedules..... 9.... Had a BBQ at my brothers last night..... casual family affair.... 10.... Spent some time at the hospital with Jordan.........nothing serious.... just high blood pressure....okay now.... 11..... Went to the Ag societys pony club camp last night to see Colts horse Splinter, he is a beauty.... I really miss riding....need to fing the time for that.... 12....Watched Days of Our Lives every day this week, it is really heating up.....I love it !!!! 13.... I actually turned on the heat today in the house, i was freezing this morning....thats kinda scary for August 3rd.....Links to other Thursday Thirteens!1.
